Meet our Staff

Leaders of all faiths came together with the shared belief that spiritual care and visitation were a human and religious right of immigrants in detention. This was the beginning of the ICDI. The bill HB4613 passed unanimously in the Illinois House and Senate on November 20, 2008, and became law in June 2009.

Dr. Ed Pratt

Executive Director

Johannes Favi

Deputy Director

Originally from Benin, Johannes Favi is a nationally recognized advocate for immigrant rights. When asked “Why do you believe in ICDI?” Johannes said “The work is critical and you would have to be in my seat to understand it.”

Kim Hart

Director of Operations and HR

Kim’s favorite part of her job is being a team player – a part of an intentional group of people that serve a very unserved population of human beings.

Greg Dart

Director of Technology

Greg received his B.A. in chemistry from Millikin University. As a chemist, he worked with computers and transitioned to become a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Trainer. Later, he developed a wide breadth of specialties including security, migrations, and projectmanagement.

Colin McCormick

Director of Programs

Sarah Ankunda

Director of ICDI Essentials

Sarah is most excited about being able to help make immigrants feel welcomed and comfortable in the United States alongside an amazing team. She has a B.A. in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

Rosa Hernandez

Director of Case Management

Before joining ICDI, Rosa has primarily worked with immigrant populations in the non-for-profit sector for over 25 years. She is inspired by her mom who migrated to the USA in the 70s, leaving everything behind, not knowing anyone or where life would take her.

Gabriela Andrade Delao

Case Manager

Gabriela’s favorite part of her position is advocating for people in need and doing her best so that they feel heard and understood. Before joining ICDI, she worked as a substitute teacher for CPS and with immigrant youth at a non-profit organization. Gabriela received her B.S. in Design and Merchandising from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. During her time there, she volunteered at a head start program as a translator, where she discovered her passion for working with children and the immigrant population.

Evelyn Esquivel

Case Manager

Evelyn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University, where she nurtured an interest in understanding political systems, ideologies, and the dynamics of governance. As part of her educational experience, she also pursued a minor in Psychology. Before joining ICDI, she worked as a Legal Assistant at an immigration law firm in Chicago.

Eduardo Rodriguez

Essentials Warehouse Associate

Eduardo is most excited about welcoming immigrant communities to our beautiful city of Chicago and being a part of an organization that is doing so compassionately and humanely. As a first-generation Mexican-American, the struggles that come with creating a new life in a new country are not new to him or his family.
